I don't know if you're still making videos or not, but I really appreciate your description of why lids buckle. I definitely put mine on too tight. Not sure why I did that. I know better. Anyway, thanks for the video!!

Someone gave us two jars of Peppers. When I pushed the little bump on the lid it went down, but it did not come up again. When I raise the jars by the lid they stay sealed. When I do the spoon test it’s good too. Do you think the jars are sealed?

But, why? The 1# propane bottle is too small to run both burners effectively without freezing and locking up and the large tank is too bulky for many trips. The Coleman fuel is the hotter/better fuel.

Absolutely brilliant! What a great idea, and video. I’m going to have to check this out. Pumping up the tank isn’t the biggest deal in the world, but still, being able to run everything off one tank and save money is awesome.

Buy a bottle of STP injector cleaner and run it through and see if that fixes it! I took mine apart and cleaned it but there is not much you can do but rub the carbon build up. I bought some STP and ran it through the tank and generator and now it puts out a nice blue flame and lasts about an hour on a full pump.

Whoops, I finally got the pump out, and oiled the little black rubber gasket, it was ok, now I can't seem to get it back in. SO bloody frustrating. IF ANYONE READS THING< PLEASE SEND ME A MSSG. I can't pump cap to fit back into its place. May not be fitting into that rod think inside the tube. Sorry, but I don't know all the lingo that goes with these parts. I've been at this for hours and I smell like gas and oil. I'm beat. PLEASE can somone please help.

HELP! I could not get that bloody pump out. If I used the end of a screw driver to pry it off, it was afraid if I kept prying, I'd mess up the metal entirely Try as I might, while being careful, I was unable to get it off. Women's weak hands, I suppose. I also could not get it to pump air into the tank.. Now what? 😖

I use my own rendered lard. Its pure. That veggie oil you are using is probably 60% motor oil and 40% waste product that big agri cant dispose of. I'll stick with homemade lard.

Great info. I recently learned about that propane converter for the 2-burner stove. Search for Stansport propane converter, I found it at Walmart.com . I've been testing mine recently during MN weather down to -15°F. The stove lights right up instantly using the converter and a 1-pound propane canister. With the liquid gas tank, I often fiddle around for 5 minutes or more trying to get the thing heated up and burning. It's frankly awesome to have instant stove heat when want it in hunting camp for instance.

So I feel like I've done everything you've mentioned to get my 413G working to no avail including cleaning the gas tank, the generator, all of the burners and replacing the pump kit. I can hear fuel coming through the gas line and burners and it still won't light after all of this. This is a kerosene stove. Any ideas on what else I can do to get this thing to light? Thank you!

I tried canning pickles for the first time( canning anything) everything went well until I put them in the bath to bring to a boil and seal them.... my stove would not bring them to a boil at all( just small bubbles temp was 194 degrees) Can these be reprocessed and still be good as far as taste and not overly soft? Also a couple jars did seal and are these ok to store away even though they didn’t reach a full boil?

Nice video. Thanks. I just cleaned and de-rusted my old tank, because it sat for a decade, half-filled with fuel, and was rusted inside like an orange coral reef! I found this stove on a junk pile at the end of a dead-end road near me. It looked interesting, so I brought it home and replaced the cap gasket, greased the piston on the pump, and used it for about 15-20 years. When I dug it out to use again while road-tripping, it got junk in the line and the burner wouldn't get to the nice blue flame, and the pump plunger was dry. It needed some TLC to correct those issues. Here are the basic steps I followed to refurbish the tank and clean the fluid line: 1. Disassemble, 2. Naval jelly in tank overnight 3.Empty jelly, 4. Baking soda and water rinse 5. Dry (repeat above 4 steps if desired) 6. BB-shake in tank - for frikkin' EVER! 7. Rinse with water 8. Dry 9. Disassemble fuel delivery system and clean thoroughly 10. Vaseline-coat pump leather and cylinder 11. Reassemble 12. Test with new, moisture-free fuel. 13. Discard old moisture-contaminated fuel in a proper manner, or burn it *safely* outdoors. Long version: First I drained the tank, then removed the brass top connector, then the leather plunger, (leaving the plunger valve closed) and used naval jelly that sat in the tank overnight. Then, I poured out the bulk of the pink goo, and used baking soda and water to neutralize the remainder. I dumped the foamy, dirty water outside, not in my septic system. Next, I set it half on, half off a burner on the electric range in the kitchen, and with the dial set to low, let the air flow through to dry the tank inside. "Half on" caused the tank to make one end hotter, and set up a convection flow through the tank. The air came in the cooler end, which was also slightly lower on the tank, and the hotter, steamy air exited the hole over the burner. CAUTION! If you try this, be sure you have thoroughly rinsed the tank with clear water, then drained it well. Keep the burner just warm enough to create evaporation in the tank. Do NOT turn it up so high it discolors or burns the copper-colored paint. And keep the doors and windows open for this. Every so often I would check to see if it had finished drying by holding a clear class over the exit hole, and gently blowing into the cooler, air-in hole. If it was still wet inside, the glass would steam up. It took a while, but I did other things, and checked it every few minutes until no steam condensed on the test glass. After rinsing the black to ash-colored flakes out then drying it thoroughly I put a small box of BBs in it, about a half-cup worth, and shook it for a LONG, LONG time while holding a fingertip over each of the two holes. Every half=minute or so, I would blow into one hole, and gray dust would come out the other hole, like the stack of an old steam train. I repeated this again and again until there was almost no smoke (dust) coming out. This was LONG process, and gave my arms quite a workout! If you aren't patient, forget it! I used BBs because I knew I would not be able to get sand completely out, because of the way the tank is formed around each hole. The BBs acted like a mild shot-peen and dislodged all the looser ash from the naval jelly rust-neutralization process. If this won't dislodge any harder stuff stuck to the inside of the tank, I'm not going to sweat it. Use steel BBs, typically copper coated. DO NOT use lead pellets. Just ... don't. While enduring the wait times, I took the brass assembly apart as much as I could, and made sure it was not clogged with bits of rust or other material. I sanded things up nicely, and was v-e-r-y careful to not bend or alter the needle-fine point that fits into the exit nozzle. I repeated the water-rinse and drying process, patiently, then when it was fully dry, I let it cool, wiped Vaseline all over the leather pump plunger, and put some around the perimeter of the pump bore. Reassembling it, I am now ready to go buy some fresh fuel and test it. Wish me luck!

Do you have suggestions on how to store the stove to avoid the tank interior rusting? Would it be better to store it full of fuel, empty, or somewhere in between? Or does it not matter?

Cast iron is not delicate, nor is the seasoning. Yes you can scratch the seasoning, it will get reseasoned with use or with re seasoning. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO USE METAL UTENSILS!

I thought your video what's interesting but one of your comments I'm going to have to tell you do not and I mean do not use brake cleaner to clean the parts especially where Heat it's going to be brake cleaner when heated puts out a very and I mean very toxic gas. I'd hate to see you give out some bad information check with the manufacturer and you'll see what I'm talking about for the brake cleaner.
